The sacchetto working method, that we privilege, permits the production of shoes that adapt themselves to the foot and not the other way round. It is a technique used for particularly comfortable shoes where the lining in full grain nappa, is sewn like a sac directly to the edge of the upper. The shoe without all of its rigid components such as the insole and the shankpiece is much lighter. Only water-soluble glue, that does not develop harmful vapours is used and a transpiring, shock-absorbing material capable of maintaining its volume for a long time is inserted between the upper and the lining. This working method however has a couple of negligible drawbacks. The absence of the insole does not permit the application of high heels; the second is in the impossibility of inserting rigid counters which instead are substituted by smaller hand applied ones.
